Imagine stepping back in time, where the roar of engines fills the air and heroes take flight. Welcome to the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum, where history comes alive!
In 1977, a small group of airplane lovers had a big idea. They wanted to save old warplanes from being forgotten. Like planting a seed, they started small at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona. By 1978, their dream had grown into the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum.
The museum’s story took flight when someone gave them a rare B-17G bomber. They named it “Sentimental Journey” and spent five years fixing it up. It was like putting together a giant puzzle, searching for parts in junkyards and old crash sites.
Today, the museum is home to many historic planes. It’s like a time machine that takes you from World War I all the way to modern times!
